This March, Nanaimo is the place to be with the launch of FESTIVAL NANAIMO with fun for the whole family including kids activities and a special weekend away for two!

FESTIVAL Nanaimo is a multi-dimensional community festival that will include great entertainment, concerts, arts & crafts, culinary delights, paint outs by local artists, heritage walks, sporting tournaments, golf packages, a boat show, a dance festival, a street party, and so much more.

Family events include PirateFest FunDay, will take place on March 28 in Maffeo Sutton Park with Pirate Parade, A Pirate Choir provided by the British Columbia Boys Choir,  Lunch, boat rides for the pirates and ending with a free community show featuring Vesta Fire performing in Diana Krall Plaza.

If you have always wanted to learn to play rock and roll - here is your chance with a Nanaimo Rawks! Camp where the members of Speed Control will teach Kids 8-80 how to play rock & roll in a week and then perform at Nanaimo's Rawks Showcase concert on March 27 at noon at the Port Theatre.

FESTIVAL NANAIMO has 8 Signature Festival Shows throughout the month and you may purchase a Festival Pass $108 or single tickets to these shows through the Port Theatre Ticket Centre. 

On March 5 - the Festival launches with Six Guitars starring Chase Padgett a great show for anyone that loves guitar music and favourite Nanaimo Band, The Lion, The Bear, The Fox will open this show.

March 7 sees two Canadian Singer Songwriters share the stage in a double bill featuring Royal Wood and Tiller's Folly.

On March 13 - Iconic Canadian performers Barney Bentall, Jim Byrnes and John Mann in one amazing night of music.

March 14 - 2nd Annual Nanaimo Bar None Variety Show - showcasing supreme scrumptious Nanaimo Talent! Over 100 performers will share the stage for a variety show like no other!

On March 17, St. Patrick's Day where else would you be, but at the 50th Anniversary of the Irish Rovers Street Party in Diana Krall Plaza.  

On March 21, a real treat for fans of award winning singer and actress Joelle Rabu, with the return of Tonight...Piaf  for the first time backed by the Vancouver Island Symphony. A second show has already been added due to demand.
