Ahoy Mateys. Yo Ho Ho – grab your stuff and let’s go! To Nanaimo’s PirateFEST Family FUNday on Saturday, April 2nd in downtown Nanaimo. Grab your salty dawgs, bring your buccaneers and scallywags and come to the pirate activities and events for the whole family.

Pirate Disguises 9:30am-12:00pm

Create unique costume pieces to embellish your pirate costume with zany flags and eye-catching patches.
Art Lab at Nanaimo Art Gallery, 150 Commercial St

The Pirate Parade: 12 noon

The Pirate Parade starts at the Port Theatre and and winds through downtown, ending at the Pioneer Waterfront Plaza. Walk or cycle, with a prize for best costume and best decorated bike.

Musical Instrument Zoo 11:00am to 12:00pm

Pirates invade the Port Theatre and try all the instruments of the orchestra at the Symphony's Musical Instrument Zoo. Sponsored by the VI Symphony. Ages 6 and up

VI Raiders 12 noon - 3:30pm

The VI Raiders join the Pirate Fun. Come and meet them!

Sing Sea Shanties! 12:30pm

Come sing with the SongWave Boys Pirate Choir, performing some pirate songs about life as a pirate. Presented by the British Columbia Boys Choir.
