Saturday, March 12th, 2022
10:00 AM to 12:30 PM

From yurts to cobwebs, wet felting is the oldest known form of textile production. In this workshop, participants will create a piece of wearable art: a scarf, wet felted from the finest of merino wool, highlighted to your taste with embellishments such as strands of silk.

We are following current COVID-19 regulations: Masks are mandatory inside the building, and we will be checking for proof of full vaccination for participants born in 2009 or earlier.

Your Instructor, Donna L Bennett, is a textile artist and experienced educator who will guide you through the process and provide you with the materials needed to make a scarf that is sure to become a cherished statement piece.

Note to Participants:

Wet felting can be challenging for folks with back issues because frequent bending from the waist is required. Also, wet floor around your work space can pose a slipping hazard.

Please Bring:

Clothes you don’t mind getting wet (a water repellent apron is an option but not essential); Do not wear clothing with loose, dangling sleeves

An old bath towel and a large bag for taking your wet felted piece home in (it will still be wet at the end of the session)

A ruler and sharp scissors or rotary cutters (optional)
