Join Fibre Artist Miss Bumble in creating a wool portrait using needle felting inspired by the current exhibition میں اپنی ماں کی بیٹی ہوں | I am my mother’s daughter by Farheen HaQ.
This project will be a reflection of HaQ's installation FEAST celebrating and honouring the stories that are carried in the landscape of our bodies. Also a reflection of some of
Participants are welcome to bring a picture in print or on a device to reference of themselves, a close up image a part of your body (scar, stretch marks, folds and curves, wrinkles, hair, eye ect) All materials will be provided to create a 2D wool painting.
Due to the length and requirements of the project 12+ is suggested.
Facilitator MISS BUMBLE
Miss Bumble is an Illustrator, Painter, Textile & Felting Artist living out of Fanny Bay, BC Canada. Inspired by the mountains ocean and nature surround this beautiful area, she incorporates this into many of her pieces.
Each fibre piece is unique, handmade and including natural materials whenever possible. The layer lines of a tree ring, the smooth edge of a shell and the pockets of space found in lichen that hangs from the trees, all of these are inspiration for the artist.
The Artist's illustration also reflects surround flora and fauna as well as LBGTQ2S+ and body positive representation.
Now living in the Comox Valley, her artistic roots lie in Salt Spring Island where she spent close to a decade explore different mediums and styles.
