Explore your creative self-expression and let a luxurious shawl or scarf be your canvas. There will be chiffon and organza silks of many colours to use as a base for your project.

Choose to learn and employ some or all of the evolving nuno, lace, cobweb, resist layering and sculptural feltmaking techniques to create an enchanting wrap for yourself.

You will be designing with merino wool, Salt Spring curly wool locks, pre-felts, specialty fabrics, yarns and fibers in an abundance of colours. Your felt will be a rich exploration in design, texture and colour. Laurie will be showing you how to felt in a new non-physical style as well as the traditional rolling technique.

Laurie Steffler's workshops are fun, engaging and creative. She will be sharing her 27 years of feltmaking with stories. She is dedicated to supporting and nourishing everyone's self-expression.

Laurie graduated from the Ontario College of Art and Design. Her felt fashion sells in galleries, major shows across Canada, and at the Salt Spring Saturday market as Feltscapes Design. She is an innovative feltmaker who is continually evolving her techniques.
