Philip Kevin Paul has two books of poetry: Taking the Names Down from the Hill (Winner of the 2004 BC Book Prize) and Little Hunger (finalist for the Governor General Awards). Kevin, a member of the Tsartlip Band has contributed to the completion of the first comprehensive map of Traditional Saanich territory. He has also worked as an instructor in UVic's writing departments, and a researcher with UVic and the University of Northern Texas in Linguistics.
Derek Hanebury is a Vancouver Island author who writes fiction, poetry and creative non-fiction. His stories and poems have been published in many magazines and broadcasted on CBC radio; and his first novel, Ginger Goodwin: Beyond the Forbidden Plateau, (Arsenal Pulp Press 1986) went to a second printing. His first book of poetry Nocturnal Tonglen ( Ekstasis) was released in 2006. He is an instructor of Creative Writing and English at North Island College.
Mary Ann Moore launched her first full-length book of poetry, Fishing for Mermaids (Leaf Press) in April. Mary Ann leads weekly women�s writing circles as well as
monthly poetry circles. She writes a blog called A Poet�s Nanaimo at www.apoetsnanaimo.ca.
