Family Fiddle Barn Dance with Live Fiddle Band

This all-ages, family-friendly Traditional Barn Dance is hosted by Nanaimo Fiddle Society. No experience is needed. The experienced caller will instruct and coach everyone for each lively circle dance and pattern dance.
Please note that these family/community barn dances are popular and have historically sold out.
We recommend purchasing advance tickets on the website at www.nanaimofiddlesociety.org. A few tickets, very few, will be available at the door. When capacity is reached, new admissions can happen only if other people depart early.
$10 for ages 0 - 18 years
$15 for adults and seniors
Also, there will be donation jar at the door for those who might wish to support our beginner fiddlers and our talented youth fiddlers.
A dance partner is not necessary, although fun to have. Everyone will dance with many partners during each pattern dance. This is not a square dance but square dancers are certainly most welcome to join the fun of these Canadian Prairie dances.
Please bring a water bottle and a smile. Also, bring loonies and toonies for cookies and coffee at the concession.
Doors open at 6:40. Dance begins promptly at 7:00 and finishes at 9:00. Arrive early! Pre-sold tickets must claim their spot by 7:10 or others in line at the door will be permitted to purchase their unclaimed spot. Don't be late!!
For safety, tiny children under 2 years, will dance in parents' arms or off to the side away from fast moving "big people".
For those with mobility challenges, please accept our invitation to sit and enjoy an evening of toe-tappin' Celtic, Quebecois and Cape Breton Fiddle music. You will smile 'til your cheeks hurt. Hand sanitizer available at the door. Please, if you are sick, stay home and join us for our next barn dance when you are well again. If you are well, we hope to see you on Friday evening for some lively, wholesome family fun. Be sure to encourage our Nanaimo Fiddle Society Fiddlers with a smile of appreciation.
