Family Barn Dance

This ain't no line dance to Achey Breaky Heart! And it's not really a square dance either, although we may call one or two squares depending on how many dancers we have. Canadian social dance goes by many names, but no matter what you call it, this is an event designed to be fun for all ages. The afternoon will start with a couple of dances designed to include the youngest members of the family, and gradually we will move into more complicated steps.
All dances will be taught on the spot, so you do not need to be an experienced dancer! We will include favourites like the Virginia Reel, Sasha, a Branle, and of course the Prarie Butterfly. Live music is provided by the VanIsle Fiddlers under the direction of Geoff Horrocks, with dance calling and instruction by Trish Horrocks.
