Interested families are invited to visit our Saanich-area campus, hear from a special guest speaker, meet faculty and staff, and find out why girls thrive here.
This evening event is planned specially for parents with daughters interested in early learning (junior kindergarten and kindergarten) and the elementary school grades (grade 1 to 4).
A number of our younger grades had waitlists this year, so now is the time to plan and start your application for Fall 2016. RSVP to attend online at www.stmarg.ca Parents and daughters are invited to attend this Open House together: take a student-led tour of our campus, attend a talk with local parenting coach, Dr Allison Rees (child-minding available during the talk), and enjoy the chance to meet our teachers and ask questions of our admissions team.
Guest Speaker: Dr. Allison Rees 6pm in the Junior Building MPR Allison Rees has been teaching LIFE Seminar courses since 1993 (LIFE stands for Living In Families Effectively). A parent educator, coach, counselor and author, Allison’s articles regularly appear in Parenting Today, Times Colonist – Family 411, and of course Island Parent Magazine with her monthly Cut it Outs. She has co-authored two books, Sidestepping the Power Struggle and The Parent Child Connection. Allison has been featured as the expert on various television programs and was the co-host of the Island Parent Radio Show for many years. Allison presents with humor and clarity while sharing candid stories of her own personal experiences of raising two kids. The material presented in these courses embraces the reality of life as opposed to preachy formulas and quick fixes.
Founded in 1908, SMS provides empowering education for local girls from Junior Kindergarten – Grade 12 (Boarding: Grades 7-12).
