Erica Dee Mah is a multi-instrumental musician and singer-songwriter based in Whitehorse, Yukon. "The Sargasso Season" is her first original album of songs written on the guzheng, a 23-stringed Chinese zither. Over the past decade, Erica has set out to find a new place for the guzheng in Canadian folk-roots music, writing lyrically-rich contemporary songs on the traditional instrument. Exclaim! Magazine recently named her one of the "must-hear" emerging artists in Canada, and she was featured on CBC Music alongside artists like the Polaris Music Prize finalists, Pantayo, who are incorporating Asian heritage into their music.
