7:30 PM to 9:00 PM

Join Victoria’s premier women’s choir as they wing their way to tour in France! Ensemble Laude will represent Canada as an invited choir at the international Choralies festival in France August 2016.

They will also offer concerts at the Eglise St Pierre d'Arène in Nice and at the oldest cathedral in France, the Cathedral of St Saveur in Aix-en-Provence. Come see and hear what we will be presenting to the world in France!

The pre-tour concerts will comprise many Canadian pieces pieces such as the lively Reel a Bouche by Malcolm Daglish, powerful Warrior by Kim Baryluk, haunting Watane by Mark Sirrett, and the enchanting Here on these Branches by Sarah Quartel. Other favourites include Jerusalem by Michael McGlynn and the rousing Pakkanen.

Now in its eighteenth year, Ensemble Laude is well-known for its excellence in a cappella performance and medieval repertoire. In June 2015 Ensemble Laude won second place in the national CBC Choral Competition, and is an invited guest to the 2016 international Choralies festival in France. Director Elizabeth MacIsaac has led choral ensembles for over 25 years, in both Canada and France. Ms. MacIsaac also enjoys an international career as a vocalist specializing in early music and new commissions of contemporary music.
