Encaustica - explorations in wax
add to outlook add to google calendar remind me
Solo exhibition of new works by Lenard Collins This show is all about wax. Encaustic (wax) painting originates in ancient Greece and Egypt where artists would use wax and other precious materials like gold leaf to fashion the death masks of wealthy patrons.
Lenard Collins' work is influenced by the artist's love of ancient cultures and pays homage to these amazing artists and artifacts. The work exploits this deeply textural medium to capture lush, intensely colourful abstracts and portraits.
