Veda Hille has an almost cult following in Vancouver as a musician, composer, artist and generally cool person. Salt Spring audiences last encountered her as the composer of Jack Pine, the terrific young person�s opera we presented in March 2009. Among her many activities, Veda has an eclectic band called Duplex made up of young and old family members and friends that performs music for young audiences. The makeup of the band varies, depending on who has exams at school, who�s just lost a tooth, and which adults can get away from other musical entanglements. We�ve snagged them for a Sunday afternoon gig that will appeal to children of all ages, parents, teachers and dentists.
