Drawing from Architecture
add to outlook add to google calendar remind me
In this two-day workshop students will approach architecture and the construction of space as a source for drawing. From personal material and found images, participants will create finished drawings of idiosyncratic architectural spaces through engagement with practices fundamental to contemporary drawing such as research, collage, blind contour and tracing. Students will also be introduced and encouraged to engage with historical and contemporary artists such as Kevin Appel, Julie Mehretu, John Ruskin, Pieter de Hooch, Vermeer, DiChirico, and Matta-Clark through slide lectures and class discussion. Suitable for beginners.
