Local artist, Cari Burdett is preparing the launch of her debut CD, Magnolia, in January 2015. This momentous task began around 20 years ago and truly started taking shape about 2 years ago. With mentorship from the talented Anne Schaefer, and local producer Joby Baker on board, the list goes on and on for those who have collaborated and supported her on this journey. Cari is now embarking on sharing these songs in theatres and festivals around the world.
Sat. Oct 11th will be an intimate evening and will feature many songs from her upcoming debut release. It will include 5 languages that all share the dramatic nature of the heart, both the vulnerability and the passion.
Cabaret Gypsy is a style that Cari termed to describe her love for these songs, to connect her to her gypsy roots, and use the
word cabaret as it was originally used, as a means of performance that crosses boundaries, provokes thought, includes a mixture of genres, and is purely entertaining.
This evening exploration will be with her friends Dave Lieffertz on Piano and Corbin Keep on Cello.
