Once a cook, courier, graphic designer and festival monitor tech from small-town BC, Doug Koyama now launches into his third summer as a touring musician at the age of 53 years. The evolution of Koyama's music has been constant and joyful. Personal revelations inform a deeper connection to source, making his music mesmerizing, evocative and emotionally charged.

The Summer of 2012 saw Koyama perform at seven BC music festivals including Robson Valley Music Fest, ArtsWells Festival of All Things Art, and a main-stage performance at Smithers' Midsummer festival.

Doug has experienced two years of life-changing kindness, beauty and generosity on the festival trail. Paying it forward, he continues to put those things back in through his music, making ever-growing ripples in the hot indie music scene.

"I believe that music is in us when we are born and that the details of life slowly suppress it as we grow," Doug says, adding, "When we reconnect with that internal symphony we reawaken ideas of self, connection and joy."
