Doris Ritchie: The Collection + Fundraising Exhibition

Local, well-known artist, Doris Ritchie, created a great body of work that includes watercolours, drawings and portraits of the island landscape, flora, and people. The Campbell River Art Gallery has graciously accepted the donation of more than 240 original works from the Ritchie estate to sell in support of Gallery fundraising initiatives. We will commemorate this artists’ work by exhibiting the collection of paintings, selling the artworks over the course of the three-week exhibition, as well as hold a Salon style reception on Saturday January 17 from 1 – 3pm.
In addition to the Doris Ritchie: The Collection + Sale, the Gallery has released an open call to artists in Campbell River and the surrounding area who are working in a two-dimensional medium, to use the gallery space as their studio work space. This will offer our audience a glimpse into the artistic process, in honour of Doris Ritchie.
