Roberta Goodman co-founded the Cetacean Nation with Dr. John Lilly and initiated the release of captive dolphins. Roberta has also interacted with dolphins in the wild. > Her communication studies continue during her daily trips to pods in Hawaii. With stories about domesticated and wild dolphins, Roberta argues that cetaceans are creatures with culture, sentience, and exceptional intelligence, and in 1993 with Lilly , she declared the rights of whales and dolphins as people.
One day, she says we will all understand the wisdom of the dolphins as we now understand the wisdom of indigenous peoples.
