Dance Victoria presents Alberta Ballet's performance of Fumbling Towards Ecstasy on November 8 & 9 at the Royal Theatre.
Inspired by and featuring the atmospheric folk pop music of award-winning singer/songwriter Sarah McLachlan, Fumbling Towards Ecstasy is a rare ballet that brings to life the personal poetry of an icon. Choreographed by Jean Grand-Matre and danced by the full company of 30 exquisite dancers, this piece explores the ever-changing lives of women - their struggles, their relationships and their triumphs.
Alberta Ballet is Canada's third largest dance company and is in its 45th season. Alberta Ballet has developed a distinctive repertoire and performance quality that has brought it to the forefront of both its home and international stages. The Company of Alberta Ballet comprises 31 classically trained professional dancers from Australia, Canada, England, France, Japan, Italy, Korea, Cuba and the United States.
Join us before the show for a pre-show chat in the theatre lobby prior to the performance. We invite a member of the company to talk about their experience dancing, choreographing or even touring the performance youre about to see. Our pre-show chats begin about 45 minutes prior to curtain and are free to all ticket holders.
