Dan Brubeck Quartet CD Release and Benefit Concert

The Dan Brubeck Quartet will be touring Vancouver Island for their new CD release concerts. The first CD release concert takes place Thursday, November 12th, 2015 at 8 pm in Victoria at Hermann’s Jazz Club at 753 View Street.

For the central island region a second date has been added at the popular Simon Holt Restaurant in Nanaimo at 6582 Applecross Rd. for Friday November 13th, at 8 pm.

The Nanaimo date is also a benefit for the charity non-profit music school, The Nanaimo Conservatory of Music.

Dan Brubeck is a renowned jazz drummer, and a member of one of America's most notable musical families. He is the son of legendary American jazz icon Dave Brubeck and the rhythmic force behind the highly successful Brubeck Brothers Quartet, whose CDs have consistently been at the top of the jazz radio charts.

Dan was producer and drummer for the 1993 Grammy nominated Trio Brubeck album and performed in the 1996 annual Grammy Award Ceremony as well as The 2009 Kennedy Center Honors. Dan has toured the international music circuit since his early teens as the leader of his own groups and as a featured soloist with many of the world‘s top symphonies,pop and jazz artists. Dan has recorded and toured the world extensively with Dave Brubeck. Their recent CD, The Dan Brubeck Quartet Live from the Cellar, features the talents of Adam Thomas vocals/bass, Tony Foster piano, and Steve Kaldestad saxophone. This live CD pays homage to the music and lyrics of Dave and Iola Brubeck. The group draws from some of the most recognizable Brubeck standards to more obscure songs that are representative of the life and work of Dave and Iola’s 70 year partnership. Dan and Adam searched through the Brubeck archives and picked the songs with lyrics that resonated the best for Adam’s unique, soulful voice. The music has been overwhelmingly well received by audiences and critics alike.
