Dam Poets 2nd Annual presentation for Culture Days Canada includes a collective of Artists, Writers, Poets, Musicians and Film makers that have been inspired by the Colliery Dams and the effort by citizens to save it from destruction.

The Dam Poets have participated in 8 Dam Poets presentations over the course of a year since the first "Dam Slam Flood Flash of Poetry" in support of saving Colliery Dams and Parkland from the City of Nanaimo's plans to demolish, destroy and fence off the parkland from the citizens. Individually the Dam Poets work in a variety of Art genre and have participated in Music Festivals, Poetry Festivals, Filmmaking, Art Exhibits, Zombie Walks and other events. This year the official Dam Poets: Meldy Wilton, RP Broad, DASCH, Maxwell Dowie & Grump, Brunie Brunie and Owl & Pussycat Folk duo, Jim & Jeannete will be joined by Anne Cameron.

Wordstorm Poets also will be joining the Dam Poets in the main atrium inside the Vancouver Island Regional Library Harbourfront Branch at 1pm - 3pm for the Dam Poets & WBP Culture Days Canada Presentation that will be followed by a light reception. A display board will be out for viewing and a table where Dam Poets that are professional writers, artists, and musicians will have some of their work for sale.

Everyone Welcome.
No Charge to attend event.

The public is encouraged to participate with an original piece of their work. Please contact through Wilton Broad Players Arts & Theatre Society with their intent to read one of their original works inspired by Colliery Dams and Parklands, Heritage, Natural environments and the animals and people that inhabit them.
