CYMC Musical Theatre presents RENT
RENT a rock musical loosely based on the opera La Bohème, tells the story of a group of impoverished young artists struggling to survive and create a life in Bohemian Alphabet City, New York, under the shadow of HIV/AIDS.
On Broadway, RENT earned critical acclaim and several awards including the Tony Award for best musical and the Pulitzer Prize for Drama and ran for twelve years. The success of the production led to several national tours, numerous foreign productions, a movie and countless diehard fans known as “Rentheads”. With terrific characters and a memorable and moving score, this is a show you won’t want to miss.
