The Comox Valley Youth Music Centre is pleased to announce our Festival Opener Benefit Concert to kick off the 2010 season. This concert will feature our professional faculty members from the Musical Theatre, Classical, and Jazz programs.
Ashley Foot, our Musical Theatre Coordinator/Program Director and Vocal Coach, has been a part of CYMC for the past 10 years! To celebrate, he will be performing songs from the last 10 years of CYMC musicals. Get ready to sing along!
The Trio Accord is our famous string trio that features Mary Sokol Brown, Andrew Brown, and Ariel Barnes, all from Vancouver. When they are not in Courtenay teaching at CYMC summer camps, Mary and Andrew play for the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra, and Ariel plays for the Vancouver Opera Orchestra.
Our Jazz program will be represented by the local group One Way Street with Troy Jakubiec, a former CYMC alumnus. Troy has also recently started working behind the scenes for CYMC to ensure a successful season. One Way Street will perform with guest Greg Bush, from the Vancouver Island University Jazz faculty.
