JOURNEY TO INCLUSION ART EXHIBITION
On March 21st, 1960, peaceful demonstrators against apartheid were killed in Sharpeville, South Africa. Subsequently, in 1966, the United Nations declared March 21st as the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination.
To commemorate this day, the Central Vancouver Island Multicultural Society presents: Journey to Inclusion, an art exhibition that explores racism and inclusion through the eyes of community members from diverse backgrounds.
Through matching artists with community participants, each pair worked together to incorporate the artists techniques with the participants personal experience with discrimination.
The exhibition is a visual exploration that raises awareness, challenges assumptions, and fosters better appreciation for diversity.
