�Function� chosen as Trash Art Challenge theme
Turning trash into cash is an art form, especially fine art.
Hundreds of dollars in prize money is up for grabs in the Comox Valley Community Arts Council�s annual Trash Art Challenge.
All entries must be constructed from recycled materials and the theme of this year�s challenge is �functional in the home environment�.
There is a $200 prize for the Best Environmental Message and smaller prizes for other categories, including
� Creative Use of Materials,
� Form and Design,
� Functionality, and
� Audience Choice
The show is a fundraiser for the gallery and opening night is Feb. 4. Submission forms are at www.comoxvalleyarts.org.
The works will be for sale at the gallery.
Last year�s Trash Art mask theme brought 45 entries.
Submissions for CVC Trash Art Challenge. Theme is 'function in the home environment'. Cash prizes. Show opening is Feb. 4/11 and show runs at the Muir on Anderton Avenue in Courtenay til Feb. 25.
