The City of Nanaimo's Culture & Heritage Department is hosting two information sessions designed for cultural grant applicants, in order to provide an overview of the upcoming changes to the City’s Cultural Grant funding programs in 2016 (to be applied for in late 2015).
The sessions will be held (one day session and one evening session - see times listed above) in the Port Theatre Harmac Room. RSVP is not required but is appreciated. Everyone is welcome to attend. Questions? Please contact us directly.
Why changes?
In 2013, Council requested that a review of the City’s cultural funding program process / criteria be undertaken as part of the cultural planning process. The purpose of the review was to ensure that the City’s cultural funding programs reflected strategic investment based on clear and consistent criteria and was aligned with the 2014-2020 Cultural Plan for a Creative Nanaimo and the 2012-2015 Corporate Strategic Plan.
A final report has been completed (City of Nanaimo Cultural Funding Program Review by Mollineaux Management) and outlines the recommended changes. Based on these recommendations, an updated grant program will be implemented for the fiscal year 2016 (to be applied for in late 2015).
