Join internationally renowned artist, Connie Watts in this exploratory, experiential workshop looking at concept and free-form thinking, and the development of ideas in artistic practice. Coinciding with Watts� solo exhibition Reconciling Self at Nanaimo Art Gallery�s Campus location, this is an exciting opportunity to spend the day in conversation with a highly successful regional artist, learning first-hand about interdisciplinary approaches to making, and how trusting one�s instincts and intuitive knowing can become a guiding, fundamental ground of one�s artistic practice.
Watts is a mixed media artist of Nuu-chah-nulth, Gitxsan and Kwakwaka'wakw ancestry based on Vancouver Island, and is involved in a large variety of art and design projects, some of which utilize contemporary media and techniques to recast and re-imagine Northwest Coast traditions - including paintings and large scale sculpture.
