Tuesday, June 16th, 2015
4:30 PM to 7:30 AM

Featuring a presentation by Ann and Gord Baird of Eco-Sense and a local foods community potluck, CGC hopes that it's 2015 AGM will leave guests well fed and inspired! The evening will commence with the community potluck.

As this event coincides with Transition Cowichan’s 4th annual ‘Eat Local Challenge’ – a pledge to eat only Vancouver Island grown food for 24 hours – CGC’s staff and board, as well as Transition Cowichan, will contribute dishes and refreshments that reflect the diversity of foods grown and produced in the Cowichan region. All guests are invited to prepare a locally inspired dish to share.

The potluck will be followed by the guest presentation. Planning to deliver a fun, fast paced slide show, Ann and Gord Baird will share their journey building the Eco-Sense home in Victoria and creating abundant permaculture gardens. Weaving in stories of their lifestyle, philosophy, and personal motivations, the Baird’s will address how they went about creating a “reasonable life.”

Lastly, this event will conclude with the AGM’s formal procedures: an opportunity to review the work and financial management of the past year, to elect board members for the coming year, and to renew or purchase a membership to CGC. At this time, we will also announce the winners of CGC’s 2015 Green Superhero Awards and 2015 Board of the Year Award. Both awards aim to recognize and honour community members and groups who demonstrate leadership within the Cowichan region’s green sector. Admission to this event is by donation.
