So to kick our new house concert series into gear we proudly present:

Scott Cook

Some people were lucky enough to catch Scott at the 2010 Islands Folk Festival. He blew them away. This young fellow has enough talent and honesty in his songs to make you want to adopt him. Edmonton's own prairie balladeer Scott Cook is a tirelessly traveling songwriter with heart forever on sleeve. A life long wanderer, he brings honesty, humor, years of roads and a deep love of humanity to his songwriting and storytelling. Live, he accompanies himself with acoustic guitar, banjo, ukulele, and foot percussion, nodding to influences as diverse as folk, country, blues, and reggae. He is currently touring in support of his second solo album, This One's on the House, an ode to hobo living and the kind folks who make it all possible.

Edmonton's alternative newspapers Vue Weekly and SEE Magazine both gave the album 4 stars. Three-time Juno winner David Francey summed it up thus: "Scott Cook has distilled his travels down into songs powered by a sharp eye for imagery, a healthy dose of humanity, and that unforgettable voice, that at the same time intones the rigors of the road and the most comfortable couch you have ever slept on." Dont miss this rare and special opportunity to enjoy Scott up close and personal. What a great start to our house concert series. Come out and support this new concept and tell us what you think!
