"Cowichan Cares"- Animal Abuse Awareness Event

United For A Paws Presents - “Cowichan Cares” United For A Paws is inviting concerned citizens to participate in the March 25th "Cowichan Cares" event. This advocacy event will bring awareness to the cause of animal welfare, rallying supporters behind the most effective approach to make changes so desperately needed.

We are a newly formed organization based in the Cowichan Valley with the aim to unite the community in a campaign to end animal abuse. There have been many recent stories on the news in regards to animal abuse cases that have upset the citizens of the Cowichan Valley. The most recent case involving Teddy has fueled much emotion and we feel that some of this emotion is being channeled in the wrong direction. Our organization would like to change that. We are going to strive to bring awareness to the many issues we face in the valley regarding animal abuse.

Our goal is to bring people together as a united front and ask our Government to be partners with us to address these issues. We have decided that the best way to focus our energy and momentum is by not participating in the peaceful protest at the courthouse on April 3rd. Instead, in its place we are going to hold a community event that will be a great opportunity to join residents and leaders in our community with Municipal, First Nations and other organizations that champion these issues.
