Do you have a passion for food and cooking? Do you dream of becoming a �Master Chef�? Come to this exciting info session to find out if a career in the culinary arts is right for you!

The Culinary Institute of Vancouver Island (CIVI) at VIU provides students with the options of a certificate (one year) and a diploma (two year) in culinary training and management skills, giving them the leading edge to advancement in the culinary profession.

You will learn, through extensive hands-on instruction, the theory of cooking, cooking methods and techniques of food preparation such as knife skills, safety, diet and nutrition, stocks, soups and sauces, meat, poultry and seafood cookery, grilling, roasting, braising, etc.

Culinary Students who excel in the Culinary Institute of Vancouver Island�s program are in demand for a wide variety of employment opportunities � from five-star hotels, to fine dining restaurants, institutions, private clubs, industrial camp kitchens, and many other culinary outlets in Canada.
