The Gabriola Lions Club presents its 19th Annual Concert on the Green featuring the ATARI RADIO STARZ. A family affair for all ages, this show is as much fun to see as it is to hear!

The ATARI RADIO STARZ is an ALL 80's stage show, featuring monster hits from Madonna, Duran Duran, Eurythmics, The Go-Go's, Whitney Houston, Cyndi Lauper, Michael Jackson, Bananarama, Def Leppard, Culture Club, Van Halen, Pat Benatar, Whitesnake and so many more!

The show comes complete with authentic 80's costumes, choreography and features some of the industry's best singers and musicians! The ATARI RADIO STARZ is a high-energy, interactive show that will keep people dancing all evening!

The afternoon kicks off at 3 PM with a Vintage Car Show and many activities: for younger kids there will be Clowns, a Hay Ride, Face Painting, Balloon Hats & the Power Squadron Boat; for slightly older children there will be demonstrations and games with the Boy Scouts and the Girl Guides; and for adults there will be Bingo in the Beer Garden, Lions Dog Guide demo and a performance by the Drumbeggar Border Morris Dancers and the Beggars Drum Band.

There will also be Popcorn, Ice Cream, Hamburgers, Hot Dogs and refreshments. Our opening act will be The Time Machine, a Gabriola band that will take the audience on a time-travel musical journey back to the birth of rock and roll and through the '60's and '70's to 1980. Bring your lawn chairs or blanket and enjoy the golf club's natural amphitheatre setting for this great show.

There is ample free parking on site and hot dogs, hamburgers, snacks and a beer garden will be available. For those coming from off-island, public transportation will meet the 3:45 p.m. ferry from Nanaimo at the ferry terminal on Gabriola Island and return after the concert.

There will be a silent auction and a raffle for two return Air Canada tickets to any destination in Canada that Air Canada serves.

Gates open at 3:00 p.m. and tickets will be available at the locations shown on the Raffle poster, at the Gate or from any Lion member. Come and join us for a great afternoon and evening of music, fun and laughter.
