Fri, Jun 12th, 8-10pm, Concert – Beverley McKeen band- West coast hop BC songbird Beverley McKeen writes and plays great songs. McKeen combines insightful, evocative and emotional lyrics about subjects spanning heartbreak, humour, and life’s ever changing way, with memorable melody structures.
Her muse graces three worthy CDs, ‘On Purpose’, ‘Poetic Wax’ and her brand new ‘Auracles’. McKeen’s beautiful voice, steady hand and compelling delivery, has made her a favorite of her town and the ‘Island’ music scene. She is welcomed to play wherever she lands. Add adept instrumentation and harmony accompaniment by her skillful colleagues and the original songwriting recipe is sheer enjoyment. With songwriting styles hard to peg down into one set genre, McKeen’s songs are folk, roots, country, rock, blues and jazz, and they crossover. Her music isn’t usual fare. The hooks are noted as profoundly catchy.
McKeen keeps busy gigging, following the highly successful releases of her 2nd, Poetic Wax and 3rd CD, ‘Auracles’ in October, at the packed Duncan, BC (Garage) Showroom.
