The Trumpeter Swan Festival, hosted by Mountainaire Avian Rescue Society, lets you get up close and personal with these beautiful birds that we are so privileged to have wintering here. We have secured the use of a bus from First Student Canada and will be having three free swan viewing bus tours led by an expert from the Comox Valley Naturalists.
The rest of the festival is indoors and includes guest speakers and conservation displays which are very informative and give insight into this wonderful environment we are fortunate to call our home. There will be a bake sale and silent auction. The kids will be busy with various activities such as origami swan making, face painting etc. Refreshments will be available.
There is also an online photo contest. If you wish to enter, call MARS at (250) 337-2021 for further information. Entry deadline Nov 14th @ 5 p.m. VOTING Peoples Choice starts NOV 15th to NOV 21st 12 noon. 4 categories - limit 4 entries (one in each)
Come out and experience an important part of Valley life.
