The rich history of 19 Wing Comox began in 1942 when the Royal Air Force began construction of an air base to protect the Pacific coastline and train air crews for service during World War II. In 1943, the Comox Base was officially transferred to the Royal Canadian Air Force. Since then, 19 Wing has reached out to surrounding communities by hosting Armed Forces Day activities in appreciation of the support they give to Canadian Forces members and their families year round. This year's Air Show aims to continue this tradition by opening its gates to residents of Vancouver Island and beyond. This amazing and memorable one day event will feature military static and flying displays from across the Canadian Forces. In addition, a large variety of unique, historic and modern military and civilian aircraft from across North America will grace the sky and tarmac.
