The Commuter Challenge is a week-long event during Canadian Environment Week (June 4-10, 2017). It’s a friendly competition between Canadian cities and workplaces to track trips taken to work by transit, cycling, walking, carpooling or telecommuting. You and your colleagues can win some fantastic prizes just for telling us how you got to and from work between June 4-10.
Here’s what you have to do:
1. Register your workplace https://commuter.commuterchallenge.ca/register/workplace
2. Register as an individual for your workplace https://commuter.commuterchallenge.ca/register/individual
3. Track your trips by logging in https://commuter.commuterchallenge.ca/individual/session
4. Encourage others to take the bus, cycle, walk, carpool or telecommute
5. Win prizes!
Why participate? Help reduce traffic congestion, improve air quality, feel healthy and win great prizes!
What can you win? Just for registering you are eligible to win fantastic prizes such as local gift certificates and gear, as well as provincial prizes such as rock-climbing lessons, whale watching, zip lining, escape room adventures, gear from MEC and Patagonia, bike tune-ups, event tickets and more!
The more you participate and track your trips, the more chances you have to win, and the better chance our workplace has of winning highest participation. There is also a special $250 cash prize to a participant/workplace team that uses transit during the Commuter Challenge.
