Community Presentation: Kirkstone Place
add to outlook add to google calendar remind me
We are inviting interested people to a presentation about the Kirkstone Place project, in Victoria, next Thursday, February 11th, from 1-2:30pm.
Kirkstone Place is an opportunity to build a green, sustainable village for up to 100 people on 8.6 acres, 15’ walk from the village of Cedar, 12 km south of Nanaimo, five minutes walk from Hemer Park and five kilometres from the sea.
In the Nanaimo Regional District Official Community Plan the land is designated to become a model sustainable neighbourhood, and the regional directors want to see it developed as such.
Imagine a community of 33 to 40 families enjoying a sustainable lifestyle in a new village, in harmony with nature. Such a precedent could change the way development is done in British Columbia, and be heralded by our children and grandchildren as a truly visionary approach.
We still have obstacles to overcome before the project can proceed, but having more partners and interested future residents will help us overcome those obstacles.
We will meet at Cardiff Place, 1246 Fairfield Road. Coming from downtown, it’s on the left, shortly before Moss Street. https://goo.gl/maps/NHpt5FdEkbG2
There’s usually free parking on Fairfield Road.
We’ll meet in the downstairs Common Room, so don’t go to the front door - turn left after you go up the path, and come in through the door to the Common Room.
Can you RSVP if you can come, so that we know numbers?
