Discover the meaning behind the UNESCO designation that marks the region where you live, work and play. Learn about our connection to the 668 other UNESCO biosphere reserves around the world and find out what makes the Mount Arrowsmith Biosphere Region unique.
Together, we'll explore these questions: Why are UNESCO biosphere reserves valuable to people and communities? How do they support environmental, social, cultural, and economic sustainability? How are Vancouver Island University students and community organizations advancing our knowledge about this region?
Monica Shore, Sarah Lumley, and Dr. Pamela Shaw will host an engaging workshop that includes short presentations, stunning photo and video footage, fun activities and lots of time for discussion.
