Over an exciting 11-week period, every Thursday from June 13th to August 22nd, locals and tourists alike are invited to experience the energy of this lively event. Set against the picturesque backdrop of downtown Nanaimo, the Commercial Street Night Market promises an unforgettable evening for all ages. Boasting nearly 200 artisan vendors, an array of food trucks, captivating musical performances, and a dedicated kids' zone, the market exudes a festive family-friendly ambiance. "The Night Market was created with the aim of bringing our community together and showcasing the best of what Nanaimo has to offer," says Corry Gervais, CEO of the Greater Nanaimo Chamber of Commerce. "It's a celebration of our local businesses, creative talents, and the vibrant spirit of our city." The artisan vendors featured at the Night Market reflect the rich creative community of the mid-Island, offering visitors a glimpse into the region's diverse artistic landscape. Located on the traditional territory of the Snuneymuxw First Nation, the Commercial Street Night Market acknowledges and pays respect to the indigenous peoples on whose land the event takes place. In a bid to foster inclusivity and accessibility, the Commercial Street Night Market proudly unveils its new Inclusive Space, situated on the second floor of the downtown branch of the Vancouver Island Regional Library. This initiative aims to provide a welcoming environment for individuals with neurodiverse needs. The Inclusive Zone is proudly sponsored by Nanaimo Community for Active Living (NACL).
