When your child is overwhelmed, it’s not defiance it’s a nervous system asking for safety.
This workshop is for anyone who’s ever felt unsure of what to do in the middle of a meltdown, transition, or emotional storm. Whether you're a parent, caregiver, educator, or support professional, this session will teach you how to turn chaos into connection.
Facilitated by May Sosa, a psychiatric nurse and parent of a neurodivergent child, this event combines clinical insight with lived experience. You’ll learn how to support children who experience the world differently those with autism, ADHD, anxiety, or sensory sensitivities by using practical, proven co-regulation strategies.
Together, we’ll explore:
How to recognize early signs of stress before a child escalates
What happens in a child’s body and brain during overwhelm
How your voice, body, and nervous system influence theirs
Tools and phrases to stay connected and grounded even when things get hard
Sensory-friendly supports and calming practices you can use right away
You’ll complete a personalized co-regulation map tailored to your child or students, and leave with real tools not just theory that make everyday life feel more manageable.
“So many parents tell me, ‘I know my child’s struggling, but I don’t know how to help without making it worse.’ This workshop is the answer to that. It gives you a calm, practical way forward even in the hardest moments.”
