In this 2-day workshop, we will create a piece of cloisonné enamel from start to finish. The student will learn traditional techniques of wire bending and wet packing enamels. During the first day time will be spent going over your potential designs – how to plan and execute your ideas. Please come with some drawings or pictures of proposed cloisonné enamels to class for discussion. The importance of cleaning enamels, the use of foils, underglazes and rods in cloisonné are taught.
Previous enameling experience is very important for completing a successful piece (see our other course "Kiln Enamelling for Beginners").
