Western Edge will serve up some of the greatest plays and stage musicals of all time in large-screen video versions recorded before a live audience. First up in the series is Arthur Miller’s masterpiece “The Crucible,” in an acclaimed production from the Old Vic in London.
Each of the videos in the Classics and Cake series will be shown on a large screen in high definition. A Western Edge company member will provide an introduction, offering expert insights into the play.
The screening of “The Crucible” takes place on Saturday, June 27th at 7 p.m. at Kismet Theatre Academy. Admission is by donation at the door.
Other presentations will be on July 25th and August 22nd, with further titles to be announced. The series is a fundraiser for Western Edge, which will also unveil its 2015-16 season at the event.
And if you don’t care for cake? “We’ll have other goodies there too,” says Moher. “Whether on stage or off, our menu is varied.”
