Professor Brendan Burke (Associate Professor, UVic) will present a lecture entitled:
Inclusion and Exclusion: Burials in Early Greece
Since 2011 the University of Victoria has been collaborating with Greek and American colleagues to excavate the site of ancient Eleon. This lecture will highlight project results thus far and focus on the location of burials at contemporaneous Mycenaean cemeteries, looking at concepts of inclusion and exclusion among emergent elites.
Please find attached a poster with the lecture information or visit our website (https://www.uvic.ca/humanities/greekroman/) for more information about this and up-coming events; please visit the Lectures page or refer to the “Events” feed on the right hand-side of the home-page.
The Classical Association of Vancouver Island is UVic’s organization for people interested in the Greek and Roman worlds. Monthly lectures by local and international scholars take place at UVic. Everyone is welcome.
