Volunteer Nanaimo provides tax services for low income families, refurbished computers to non-profits and individuals,fun family events such as Touch a Truck, a database of volunteers to help organizations, a huge Volunteer Recognition Luncheon, a Christmas Angel progran that provides food and gifts for the needy at Xmas,knitted lap blankets for the elderly and toques for newborns, a Youth Network to provide youth with volunteering experience to mention some of the services. The Departure Bay Refugee Support Group will be supporting an extended family from the middle east financially and emotionally for at least one year as they become self sufficient.
