Thursday, December 28th, 2017
10:00 AM to 1:30 PM

Join us for this family-friendly bird watching event for kids 5 to 12 years old (parent participation required).

Young birders will learn how to use binoculars to help spot and identify birds and will be taught the most common local species found in the Nanaimo Area. After the count, teams will gather at the Miner's Cottage off Jingle Pot Road to warm up, share results and enjoy a treat. Kids will go home with their own hand built pinecone feeder to attract birds to their own backyard!

This event is free, but registration is required to confirm number of participants.

Please call Parks & Recreation 250-756-5200 and register for course 161425.

Be sure to bring: - binoculars and bird field guide if you have them - warm clothes, rain gear and appropriate footwear for the weather - a travel mug and bagged lunch

This program is co-hosted by the City of Nanaimo, Bird Studies Canada and Nanaimo NatureKids. For more information, please contact Linda Brooymans at [email protected].
