Christmas Day may be weeks away, but the spirit of the season will be cheery and bright in the Florence Filberg Centre, Courtenay, November 9th through 11th for the 24th Annual Charles Dickens Christmas Craft Faire. The Faire has become a tradition as shoppers have the opportunity to do their Christmas shopping early in a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere filled with the sights and smells of Christmas.

Come and join us at the first major Christmas craft fair of the season in the Comox Valley. New and returning artisans from across Vancouver Island and beyond have joined the Faire to bring you an exceptional variety of quality handcrafted gifts. This juried event has over 60 exhibitors occupying both floors of the Filberg Centre ready to welcome you. You have the opportunity to meet and speak directly with the artists and artisans who have created such beautiful and creative work.

The show will feature a range of beauty and bath products, soaps, lotions and skin care products, and whether you are shopping for children or an avid toy collector, look forward to the Faire's's selection of novelty toy art, Teddy Bears and toys. You will find Santas and unique Christmas decorations. There will be a beautiful selection of handcrafted jewellery, sterling silver and other precious metals, opals, pearls, and crystals. We know you can ever go wrong with something practical, and so, the Faire will feature a wide range of handcrafted apparel, woven and felted clothing for children and adults. There will be leatherwork, home décor items like table runners, quilted items from the Schoolhouse Quilters group, aprons, tea cosies, and baby items, hand spun and oven apparel from the Woolgatherers group, original artwork and paintings.

For that nature lover on your list, be sure to check out the fine selection of photography. There will be handmade cards, and also expect to see a great variety of wood including intarsia, spoons and cutting boards from local wood. There will be fresh honey and bee products, you will find European-style Christmas baking, and gourmet sauces and spices. Also find carved and hand-painted gourds, as well as functional and decorative pottery.

There will be authors of children’s and adult books, stained and painted glass, specialty
wines, and so much more...

This is a much-anticipated show, and you can be sure to find something unique for that hard-to-please person on your gift list...or to treat yourself!

To support the community, organizers have provided space on the lower level of the Filberg Centre for three local charitable organizations, to help them raise funds and awareness.
