Canadas submarine service was born in Esquimalt on August 5, 1914 when World War One was declared. For a century, the essence of the proud service has been the submariners rather than the boats from the prairie boys in 1914 whod never seen the sea, let alone a submarine, to the highly trained sailors who serve in our Victoria class today. The two extremes are inextricably linked by intense pride in the submarine service and professionalism under difficult and often hazardous conditions. This is their story.
Join Julie H. Ferguson to discover the successes, tragedies, and occasional comedy through those that lived it during the first hundred years of the Royal Canadian Navys submarine service!
