Canadian Institute of Forestry - Vancouver Island Section has set up a display to celebrate National Forest Week.

It is free to stop by and learn about forests and forestry in BC. This year's theme is Wildland Fire, kids of all ages will be interested to learn about our local forests and how to be fire smart. National Forest Week happens the 3rd week in September. During National Forest Week, Canadians are invited to learn more about Canada’s forest heritage and to raise awareness about this valuable and renewable resource.

Forests are fundamental to our economy, culture, traditions and history – and to our future. Communities, families and individuals depend on forests for their livelihood and way of life.
