This unique workshop will provide you with the opportunity to learn about gathering and preparing cedar and to make a cedar hat or headband. It will include a field trip to harvest cedar. Limited participants.

Day 1- Thursday April 16, Gathering & Preparing Cedar (Field Trip) 9:00am-4:00pm This is a unique opportunity to take part in a field trip to harvest cedar. Participants in the four day hat making workshop will be given preference. Bring your own lunch.
Day 2 &3& 4 – Friday April 17-Sunday April 19 Weaving with Cedar 10:00 am-4:00 pm Participants of these one or two day workshops will learn how to prepare cedar and weave a cedar headband. You will have the opportunity to create one or two headbands, depending on the complexity.
Four Day Workshop: Weaving a Cedar Hat (April 16-19) A rare opportunity for those that want to make a traditional cedar hat, using either West Coast, or Coast Salish hat forms. This 4 day workshop will take place on Hwiemtun's land, on Boys Rd., specially created for workshops and ceremonial gatherings. Each day will bring a sharing of teachings, of song and of weaving, potluck lunches.
We will be working both indoors and outdoors weather dependent.
Costs: Day 1-Field Trip and Cedar Gathering & Preparation $75.00- bagged lunch.
Day 2 -4: $75.00/day materials included, bring potluck lunch
Combinations: 2 days: $120.00 or 3days $180.00
Weaving a Cedar Hat- 4 days-$250.00
