CCPA Presents: Young Frankenstein
add to outlook add to google calendar remind me
The Canadian College of Performing Arts (CCPA) is presenting one of the funniest live theatre productions the region has seen as its year-end production.
Based closely on the 1974 Mel Brooks comedy classic, the live production becomes a
musical theatre extravaganza. Young Frankenstein is a musical parody of so many
horror films and the author, comedy legend Mel Broods has long considered it his best
film.
The musical plays April 24-26, with 7:30pm performances Thursday to Saturday as well
as a Saturday matinee at the McPherson Playhouse. Its directed by the Colleges Artistic
Director, Darold Roles and he promises it to be monstrously good entertainment with
memorable tunes such as The Transylvania Mania and He Vas My Boyfriend.
The four performances are double cast in order to present Victoria audiences with a
glimpse at some of the top young performing arts talent that the country has to offer.
The Canadian College of Performing Arts is one of the countrys top training centres for
talented and passionate artists. While in Victoria, students of the college mount
productions that many have compared to an evening on Broadway. Over 80% of
students who graduate CCPAs Year II program have earned professional contracts
locally, nationally and internationally.
